Ayurveda Treatment at Mishraveda
Ayurveda is the art of bringing balance and harmony into the body, mind, and spirit. It believes good health comes from a balance in oneself and with the world surrounding us. When this balance is upset, then illness can set in. Ayurveda provides a pathway to restoring this balance, bringing healing in a natural and holistic way.
At Mishraveda, we emphasize Ayurveda not as a panacea but as a journey for improving life. This helps one in understanding the deeper connections that prevail within his body and mind, and this, of course, leads to actual healing.
What Ayurveda Treatment is Not
-
A quick solution – Ayurveda is not about offering instant results or simple fixes. -
Magic or mystery – Ayurveda is not based upon unscientific practices or even hidden secrets. -
Restrictive lifestyle rules – It is not about having unrealistic, one-size-fits-all principles. -
Exotic remedies or teas – Ayurveda is much more than selling teas, spices, or herbs. -
A rigid, lifelong prescription – It’s not about guiding you into monotonous or restrictive routines forever.
What Ayurveda Treatment is About
-
Restoring quality of life – Helping you lead a life that feels fulfilling and balanced. -
Ayurveda simplifies life – It makes one understand their life and health in a very simple and clearer way. -
Relief of distress – Ayurveda removes the very roots that cause distress whether physical or emotional. -
Harness natural healing – Reawaken your body’s in-built healing ability. -
Address the root cause – Ayurveda cures the disease, not the symptoms of the disease.
It is because of these principles that Ayurveda treatment at Mishraveda is more than a process; it’s a dedication to new well-being and even better alignment.
Doshas: The roots of Ayurveda therapies
Ayurveda is based on three natural forces that have been identified in the world-air, fire, and water. In a human form, these three forces manifest as three fundamental doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Each dosha has authority over different aspects of functioning, health, and life. The body thrives when these doshas are in balance. Out of balance and disease may ensue. At Mishraveda, we are working to regain this balance in order to enhance health and vitality.
Vata governs movement and includes circulation and respiration.
Pitta governs metabolism, energy production, and digestion.
Kapha governs the formation, immune system, and moisturizing.
It is not a matter of doshas balancing with each other; it is more about creating balance within so that each dosha can do its best for each one’s specific needs.
Shamana Treatment
Shamana focuses on calming and pacifying the doshas –
- Vata is pacified with sesame oil (Til tail).
- Pitta is balanced with clarified butter (Ghee).
- Kapha is reduced using honey (Madhu).
These treatments are aimed at calming the specific dosha that is in excess, but always keeping in mind that balance should be maintained across all doshas.
Shodhana Treatment
Shodhana is a purification treatment that removes excess dosha from the body. Techniques utilised vary according to where it locates doshas in the body
- Vata excess is treated with Basti therapy (medicinal enema).
- Pitta excess is treated with Virechana (therapeutic purgation).
- Kapha excess is treated with Vamana (therapeutic vomiting).
These therapies are very cleansing and aim at restoring harmony across all the doshas to enable the body to be at its best.

Frequently Asked Questions About Ayurveda Treatment ?
Is everything curable in Ayurveda?
Though Ayurveda can address a vast majority of medical conditions, it is wise to note that not all medical conditions are curable. Ayurveda categorizes diseases into three categories: Sadhya (curable), Asadhya (incurable), and Pratyekhyey (manageable). A qualified Vaidya will consider your condition and guide you accordingly.
Is Panchakarma required for each Ayurvedic treatment?
Panchakarma is a strong treatment alternative but not for every diagnosis. Depending on the diagnosis, your Vaidya might be suggesting some other treatment such as herbal remedy or some diet change.
Why do restrictions need to be put on diet and lifestyle in Ayurvedic treatment?
Restrictions are part of the treatment to help guide your body towards healing. For instance, a diabetic person has to keep away from sugar. These restrictions are specific to your condition and are meant to optimize the effectiveness of the treatment.
Does Ayurveda treatment take longer?
Ayurveda may take longer than the conventional treatments but results are more permanent in most cases. For chronic conditions like diabetes or hypertension, Ayurveda provides long-term relief, whereas the Western medical system requires medicine for a lifetime.
