Nasya
“A clear mind gives nourishment to the body.”
Nasya - Therapeutic Panchakarma Procedure for Head and Sinus Health
Nasya is a specialized Ayurvedic treatment that focuses on the administration of medicated oils or powders through the nasal passages. One of the five primary therapies in Panchakarma, this therapy aims at evacuating the diseases caused by the head, eyes, ears, and neck. Hence, Nasya is helpful in decongestion, changing breathing patterns, and removing Kapha dosha, which means congestion and mucus accumulation.
Nasya and Dosha Equilibrium
It affects the Prana Vata, which is a sub-type of Vata responsible for breathing, and the Kapha dosha, the one dealing with mucus and respiratory health. It clears the nasal passage, sinuses, and head region and enables free flow of Prana or life force energy along with improving mental clarity. Nasya helps in bringing both Vata and Kapha into balance for one’s well-being.
Role of Nasya in the removal of Mala and Dosha Balance
Nasya is one of the Shodhana procedures. It removes mala or impurities from the upper respiratory tract and head. This treatment is applied for blockages due to dosha imbalance in Vata and Kapha and for evacuation of excess mucus or pollution that has gathered within the sinuses, head, and the part of the respiratory region.
Benefits of Nasya Therapy –
